First AviX® Licenses for the Solar Industrie

After successful pilot projects in the first half of 2010, through which several of the leading German solar cell companies experienced significant cost reductions by working with AviX^®, now the first AviX^® licenses have been delivered.
From setup times over production of cells and modules to the assembly of solar installation on the field video analytics with AviX^® have led to 2 digit percent improvements.
Naturally now AviX^® becomes a standard in the toolbox of German industry, battling for competiveness and strengthening of Germany as a manufacturing location.

Getrag All Wheel Drive is part of the German Getrag Corporate Group, which has around 13 000 employees.

They saw an increase of product variants which negatively affected the balance of the production lines. Ironically, continuous improvement efforts have also contributed to increase the balance losses. The problem was evident to everybody involved, but neither was the extent of the losses known, nor how the lines should be balanced to be optimal.

With this background, a project was launched and AviX^® was used to balance four of the assembly lines.

Wind and Solar Energy Companies embarking on AviX®

Even though the demand for sources of alternative energy is rising, at the same time the competitive pressure in the industry is increasing. Specifically in the Solar Industry new competitors from China are aggressively entering into the market, while at the same time the partly lush subsidies in many European countries are tuned down as a result of the general economic crisis.

Thus productivity and cost effectiveness move into the focus rather than growth and project finance. As of today, already two of the leading solar cell producers have ordered AviX® pilot projets; in the wind energy sectors two of the market leaders are already among our customers.

We are confident that we can turn this into a good example how AviX® can make European manufacturing in the high tech arena fully competitive with the Asian competition!

AviX® 4.1.5 is now available for our customers for download through the customer center.

Thanks to the feedback from AviX® users all around the world (thank you!) many improvements were implemented which makes working with AviX® 4.1.5 even easier and smoother. Some examples include improved search capabilities for parts and tools, and not to mention the all-new media player! All forms of film rendering is now a distant memory!

The leading German newspaper, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported in a special on the future of the important German mid size company sector about AviX®.

Recently we submitted AviX® for an independent evaluation to the Technical University of Darmstadt, where Prof. Abele has initiated the CiP-Factory.

At the CiP factory new development in technology and improvement methods are evaluated and transfered to application in the German industry.

"Videoanalysis may lead to significant increases in productivity", so the results for Prof. Abele.

Since 3rd of July, AviX® 4.1.1 is available to our customers for download through the customer center. Thanks to the feedback from AviX® users all around the world (thank you!) many improvements were implemented which makes working with AviX® 4.1.1 even easier and smoother, e.g. the notes-taking and reporting features.

Cimteam Oy - New partner in Finland!

The Finnish consultancy and training company Cimteam Oy has started a partnership with Solme AB.
Cimteam will sell AviX® and use AviX® as a tool in their customer projects. Cimteam´s customers are producing machines, motors, instruments, door locks, medical devices, telecom products, furniture etc. or they are subcontractors for these companies. Many of their customers are operating globally and they have strong postion in their business area.Services of Cimteam Oy are technical, productivity and quality development.

Cimteam Oy was founded in 1991 and over 400 customer projects have been realized.

A successful seminar!

The 2008 AviX® Seminar was a success!
One of several interesting presentations and discussions on day 1 was Professor Anders Kinnander talking on “Beyond Lean”. His speech was highly appreciated and gave rise to many interesting discussions.

Swedwood AB, a wholly-owned daughter company to IKEA, was represented by Mr Risto Päntikainen who made a detailed and highly valued report on how they, using AviX®, have run SMED projects with amazing results! On behalf of his company, Risto received, on day 2, this year’s AviX® Award of Excellence, Solme´s yearly challenge prize for a work where AviX® has been of vital importance for the result and which have attracted well-deserved attention.
In the evening all delegates went to Marstrand´s "Koön" by RIB boats. We enjoyed a marvellous feast being both a seminar party and a celebration of Solme´s first 10 years where tremendous fireworks formed a spectacular final to the event.
We wish to thank you all for joining us and for making the seminar a pure success!
